The story of YOGA IN ART
YOGA IN ART was born in the silence of the pandemic. The slowing down of the world gave me the opportunity to return to my Indian roots as an artist. I rediscovered my passion for yoga. Yoga became a part of my daily routine and an inspiration for my art. In my day-to-day work as an architect, I work with shapes and figures and yoga is the art of shaping body, mind and soul. I got into the science of yoga and started drawing my favorite yoga poses.
Since studying art and architecture in Germany, the Bauhaus style and the minimalist art movement have influenced me a lot. Free flowing curves and pastel colors dominate my works of art. My yoga art is timeless and brings the feeling of calm and warmth into the room - both at home and in the office. This is how the idea for YOGA IN ART arose - the perfection of the body shaped in art.
My passion is
The task of art is to enrich our lives. My passion is to connect people with yoga through art. The art is created, printed and packaged by myself with care. I hope that the works will give your living and working spaces a harmonious shine.
Namaste, I am shankar
I am Shankar Ramakrishnan - artist, architect and founder of YOGA IN ART - and I live in Munich. My passion for art and architecture began in my childhood, later I studied architecture in Germany. In 2016 I graduated from the renowned Staedelschule Architecture Class (SAC) in Frankfurt am Main. The art school is closely networked with the global art scene, leading artists and academics teach there. During this time I was able to find and develop my style. As an architect, I have worked with international architecture firms such as UNStudio, 1100 Architect and HENN, and here I have gained valuable experience in designing walls. For my art I combine digital and analogue techniques. So far I have exhibited my work in Groebenzell in the parish hall and in the poster gallery in Munich. You can see them regularly in the latter.
