The story of YOGA IN ART
YYOGA IN ART was born in the silence of the pandemic. The slowing down of the world gave me the opportunity to return to my Indian roots as an artist. I rediscovered my passion for yoga. Yoga became part of my daily routine and an inspiration for my art. In my everyday work as an architect I work with shapes and figures and yoga is the art of shaping body, mind and soul. I delved into the science of yoga and started drawing my favorite yoga poses. Since studying art and architecture in Germany, I have been heavily influenced by the Bauhaus style and the minimalist art movement. Free flowing curves and pastel colors dominate my artworks. My yoga art is timeless and brings a sense of calm and warmth to any space, both at home and in the office. This is how the idea for YOGA IN ART came about – the perfection of the body formed in art. My passion is art has the task of enriching our lives.
My Passion
My passion is to connect people with yoga through art. I hope that the works give your living and working spaces a harmonious glow.
Namaste, I am shankar
I'm Shankar Ramakrishnan - artist, architect and founder of YOGA IN ART - living in Berlin. My passion for art and architecture started in my childhood, later I studied architecture in Germany. In 2016 I graduated from the renowned Staedelschule Architecture Class (SAC) in Frankfurt am Main. The art school is strongly networked with the global art scene, leading artists and academics teach there. During this time I was able to find and develop my style. As an architect, I have worked with international architecture firms such as UNStudio, 1100 Architect and HENN, where I gained valuable experience in design. For my art I combine digital and analogue techniques. So far I have exhibited my work in Groebenzell in the town hall and in the poster gallery in Munich.
